Please explain why we no longer join hands during the Lord's Prayer. It seems to me that joining hands symbolizes even more that we are all a part of the Body of Christ. I miss this act of church community. I think it really made a difference in our spiritual connection.
I miss the linking of hands during the "Our Father".
On the Mass Intentions for the week I noticed that there is only one for the day. I suggest that whoever requested, there should be not just one. You could put as many as you would per request for that Mass or day. Thank you so much.
For increase in revenue, is it possible to have more than one intention in each Mass? There might be more than one who will be interested to offer Mass for the same day. Ex: one might have a Sp. Int. (birthday, successful surgery/healing, graduation, mass for dead relative) on same day. It will help increase revenue for the month.
I like the classical feel to the music. We could possible incorporate other instruments other than the organ. Possibly a cantor with the rest of the people below.
It has been said before that there would be a variety in music, but I have yet to hear it. While the organ is a beautiful instrument, I think it would better serve the community if other instruments could also be used. A variety in sound would be positive for the different forms of worship that we embrace.
Modern music with guitar & piano
Bring back the piano & guitar in front leading the singing!
I agree (added to comment about more variety in music and modern song and other instruments).
I think we should have more variety in the music and maybe more modern song also possibly other instruments beside the organ.
Music - a lot of the hymns seem impossible to sing by "regular" people (not trained in voice or reading music). Please choose more traditional songs that we all can sing. It seems that too many of the songs at Mass are way too intimidation - se we/many of us just give up! I think this is very sad.
It seems that our parish participation in the music has fallen off tremendously. No one or very few join in anymore. St. Edward's used to be a singing church, no more. Perhaps the hymns are the reason & no one leading us. Is this possible to fix?
Can cantor/lead singer come back to the front of church? It's motivation to see our "leader".
While the classical form of music is good, I feel that the parish should be introduced to different music, or at least once in a while have the more popular church songs. I feel that due to this more classical version, we are not attracting as many youth/young adults as we used to. I realize that liturgy is not to entertain, but if you want more younger people to be interested and be involved in the future of the parish you need to somewhat appeal to them.
I agree (added to comment about more contemporary songs for young & old).
What happened to our piano, I agree to some people, we need a livelier songs of praise!
Fr Jeff speaks about music at the 10 AM Mass.
Fr Jeff tours the scaristy. He demonstrates preparing the chalice and the how the priest vests for mass
